Uzlina area
Sf. Gheorghe arm -possible the oldest of the Danube’s branches
Uzlina, has been for over 200 years, a thriving fishing community composed only of "Lipovans" (descendants of Russian refugees who fled mainly Russia from religious persecution in the early 18th century).
Nowadays, Uzlina is home to the offices of the Danube Delta Biosphere Reserve and the Jacques Cousteau Foundation, an important zoological natural reserve, where you can identify a great deal of rare species of birds, wildness and beauty, white and yellow water lilys, willows, rootsbents, channels and lakes.
A "necklace" of lakes which are always a resting or feeding place for colonies of swans, pelicans and cormorants.
Its fish is shared between the fishermen and birds.

Rosu complex
Rosu (Red) Lake and Puiu Lakes are large and deep lakes with an important fisheries potentially because the channel between them , placed parallel to the direction of flow in the Danube has a strong current, which oxygenates the water and attracts many fish.

Sfantu' Gheorghe (Saint George) village the last point before Danube enters the Black Sea, on the Sf. Gheorghe arm, the southernmost of the three Danube branches.
First mentioned in 1318, it was used as a military base by the Ottoman fleet. Nowadays, the fishing village of St. George is well-known for its traditional cooking, including the famous black caviar (icre negre).
A 30-minute walk will take you to one of the longest strips of beach on the Romanian Black Sea coast.

*A trip to the Delta can be organized for three or more days, depending on tourist's availability.
* All days' schedule is subject to change, accordingly to preferences on accommodation, time and budget.
